OPIUS — A better way to decision

The business environment of today is a pretty complex place, where it is sometimes hard to fathom what is going on where. We may understand the need to change or adapt to an ever changing world, but in what way, what is the most optimal outcome and moreover, where do we actually stand today?
We have incorporated the experiences and know-how from Lean thinking, J.P. Kotter and others as we created a tool which takes on a holistic approach when mapping current states.

"Organisation – Processes – Information – Users – System"
OPIUS is a qualitative model for analysis, developed by Symmetri Konsult AB to be used as a tool in the initial phases of an organisation’s work of change.
The objective with carrying out an OPIUS analysis is to—in short time—identify areas of improvement, weaknesses and strengths, as well as produce prioritised suggestions for improvements.

The name is derived from the components, which serve both as variables and for creating interfaces between them:

Information as a variable helps us understand things like in what way is the quality of the information ensured, while System delivers input to the analysis e.g. through investigating areas as Service Level Agreements (SLA). However, in the interface between Information and System lie such things as Production, Format and Storage, which are also taken into account in the analysis.

This makes OPIUS taking on a more holistic approach and enables the team members to view the analysed situation from different perspectives.

We offer analyses at several levels, from pin-pointed projects to full-scale transformation efforts, each uniquely tailored for each customer's need.
We offer courses in OPIUS analysing and modelling as part of educating or coaching for your team members.
